Charltons Town Gate

The Charltons Town Gate from Charltons is a top-quality wooden gate, crafted with tongue & groove boards. Featuring a sturdy framed, ledged, and braced construction, it employs mortice and tenon joints, all in a smooth, planed finish. Ideal for use as a garden gate, it offers excellent security and privacy.  Available in widths of 900mm (just under 3ft), and heights of 1522mm (5ft) and 1778mm (5ft 8"), this wooden gate is made from softwood and is pressure treated, ensuring long-lasting durability. When fitting this wooden gate we recommend 16" or 18" Tee hinges which are attached to the gate and post by screws.  Another option when hanging is to use cranked bands.  For latching the gate we recommend a 6" gate latch or a heavy duty suffolk latch.  A 6" Brenton bolt can also be used to latch the gate which gives the option of being able to padlock and secure the gate.  For hanging either gate we recommend a 6" x 6" post or bigger.  Postcrete can also be ordered for securing the post in the ground.  Please see related products for a list of items required.
