Charltons Forester Gate

When fitting this wooden gate we recommend a 24" Gate kit, for gates 8ft to 12ft wide, an 18" gate kit, for gates 5ft to 7 ft wide, and a 12" gate kit, for gates 3ft to 4ft wide (Note a 19mm drill bit is required to attach the kit to the gate and the post).  This kit comes with the attachments for hanging the gate included.  Another option is bolt on hinges top and bottom but this option doesn't allow the gate to be adjusted when hung.  If choosing this option then two bolt on hinges and four M12 coach bolts are required to attach the gate to the post.  For latching the gate we recommend a field auto latch and an odd leg striker.  Two M12 coach bolts are needed for the field auto latch.  For posts we recommend 7'6" Long Dressed, Chamfered, Rounded Top Post of width at least 7" x 7".  This is an ideal post for a garden as it has a nicer finish.  Another option is a more plain 7' 6" Treated Larch Square Post of width at least 7" x 7".  Postcrete can also be ordered for securing the post in the ground.  Please see related products for a list of items required.
