JSF Contract Works

We are proud of our roots here at JSF - contracting is where we started and is still an important part of our business.

We still work with families that our founder, Jimmy Smith carried out works for over 70 years ago.

The contracting side is run by our senior director Ian Smith who initially worked with his late father as a former fencer, moving on to sales and expanding JSF gradually to the company that it is today.

Ian now has 44 years of experience and really enjoys being at the helm of the contracting side. From organising staff and preparing quotes. There are around 12 fencers who are employed at JSF, with a few more regular contractors who are also there to lend a hand, on average there are 15 people working in the fencing division throughout the year.

When it comes to site visits and organisation, Ian is now assisted by David Parker, a previous fencer who has been with JSF for many years. After 44 years there’s nothing the boss hasn’t encountered and been able to sort out. We think he knows the job inside out!!

Here at JSF we have very loyal staff, one fencer has been with us for 50 years and a few other for over 30 years! They know what they are doing.
