This is a home grown pressure treated larch peeled & treated post with a 4 way point. Being a redwood and with the further advantage of treatment these posts will have a very respectable lifespan.
This size of post would always be driven in with a postdriver.
This diameter would be ideal for applications such as intermediate posts for conventional stock fencing, for dyke scare fencing, electric fencing, and corners or turners for rabbit proof fencing.
